Well, this is awkward.
A guy has gone viral after he decided to post up right outside a local store, camera in hand, recording… something. Just vibing on the sidewalk. The only problem? The store owner wasn’t having any of it – and neither were the police.
In the now widely shared clip (because of course it’s online), the man is seen calmly filming on the public sidewalk. When the store owner steps out and asks him to stop, things get tense fast. The man doesn’t argue – instead, he hits them with the classic: “I’m on public property. I have every right to film.”
To make things even more heated, cops eventually show up. But even with flashing lights and official uniforms in his face, the guy stands his ground. “I’m not breaking any laws,” he says. “This is a First Amendment right.”
And technically… he’s not wrong. In most places, filming in public spaces is perfectly legal – even if it makes people uncomfortable. But that hasn’t stopped the internet from doing what it does best: taking sides and arguing about it loudly.
Some are calling him a hero, standing up for civil liberties. Others say he’s just being a pain and stirring drama for content.
“Why would anyone do this unless they’re trying to provoke?” one commenter wrote. “Bro, go home.”
Another fired back: “Good. We need more people asserting their rights in public.”
The store owner, meanwhile, didn’t comment publicly, but you can hear their frustration in the clip: “You’re creeping out customers. Just stop.” Still, unless the guy stepped foot on private property or caused an actual disturbance, it looks like there’s not much anyone can do about it.
So what do you think – activist or attention-seeker?
Let us know in the comments (but keep it civil… kind of).
