Passengers on a recent flight got more than just in-flight snacks when a family trip turned completely bonkers mid-air — all thanks to one mum’s unexpected meltdown.

In a now-viral video circulating on social media, a woman traveling with her husband and young child is seen losing it somewhere over the clouds. Eyewitnesses say everything seemed normal until the mum suddenly started shouting, pacing the aisle, and throwing what can only be described as a full-grown toddler tantrum.

Flight attendants tried to calm the situation, but things spiraled quickly. One fellow passenger said, “She was screaming at nothing, and her husband looked like he wanted the plane door to open so he could eject himself.”

The family had boarded the flight like any other: mum, dad, and a kid no older than 6. But halfway through, the mum began acting erratically — yelling at her husband, throwing her shoe (yes, a shoe) into the aisle, and at one point, allegedly tried to lecture the cabin crew on “spiritual flight frequencies.”

A short clip shows the dad awkwardly apologising to nearby passengers:
“I’m so sorry, she had a bit too much to drink before we boarded… she’s not usually like this.”

Now, social media is torn. Some are sympathizing with the dad who clearly wanted to vanish into thin air, while others are questioning if booze alone explains the outburst.

“He’s holding the kid while apologizing to strangers — this is peak ‘dad under duress’ energy,” one user wrote. Another said, “The way she turned from calm to chaos was honestly terrifying. Hope she’s okay, but damn.”

The video racked up over 3 million views in 24 hours, sparking debates about drinking before flying, mental health, and just how much patience a person can have at 30,000 feet.

No injuries were reported, and the family was escorted off the plane calmly upon landing. As for the internet, it’s divided between concern, secondhand embarrassment, and memes about needing a drink after witnessing the scene.
