[INT. CLOTHING STORE – DAY]
A young woman, MAYA, is quietly browsing through clothes. A loud, smug SALESMAN eyes her suspiciously from the counter.
SALESMAN (to coworker, whispering):
Keep an eye on her. She’s been in here too long, and she hasn’t bought anything.
As Maya walks toward the fitting rooms, the alarm suddenly goes off.
SALESMAN (shouting):
Hey! You! Stop right there!
Maya freezes, confused and frightened.
MAYA:
What? I didn’t do anything!
SALESMAN (accusingly):
Don’t play dumb. You set off the alarm. What did you steal?
A small crowd begins to form. Maya looks around, humiliated.
MAYA:
Nothing! I swear, I didn’t take anything!
He grabs her bag and starts digging through it in front of everyone.
SALESMAN:
Aha! What’s this?
He pulls out a sweater with a tag on it.
MAYA (shocked):
That’s not mine! I didn’t put that there!
STORE MANAGER (arriving):
What’s going on here?
SALESMAN (smugly):
Caught her red-handed.
The manager inspects the item and frowns.
STORE MANAGER:
This is from last season. We haven’t even had this on display in weeks…
MAYA:
I was just looking for a birthday gift for my mom. I didn’t steal anything. Please check the cameras.
[CUT TO: SECURITY CAMERA FOOTAGE]
It shows the SALESMAN slipping the sweater into her bag when she wasn’t looking.
[BACK TO SCENE]
STORE MANAGER (furious):
You framed her?! What is wrong with you?
SALESMAN (stammering):
I—I just thought—
STORE MANAGER:
You’re fired. And you’ll be lucky if she doesn’t press charges.
Maya wipes a tear, still shaken.
MAYA:
I just wanted to shop in peace.

NARRATOR (voiceover):
“Never judge someone based on how they look—or assume the worst. Because the truth always comes out in the end.”
