[EXT. RIVERBANK – MIDDAY]
Sunlight sparkles on the gentle flow of the river. A family of otters plays near the water’s edge, sliding on smooth rocks and chasing each other in the shallow currents.
Suddenly, a large dog bounds down the hill, barking loudly, chasing the otters with wild energy.
One tiny baby otter slips and falls into the water, struggling against the current as the dog lunges closer.
[EXT. RIVERBANK – CONTINUOUS]
From behind a tree, JESSICA (early 30s, nature lover) sees the chaos. Without hesitation, she races down, shouting at the dog.
JESSICA:
Hey! Stop! Leave them alone!
The dog freezes for a second but keeps advancing.
Jessica dives forward, scooping the baby otter from the water just before the dog can reach it. She cradles the soaking wet, trembling otter against her chest.
[EXT. RIVERBANK – MOMENTS LATER]
Jessica kneels, calming the baby otter, speaking softly.
JESSICA:
You’re safe now. I won’t let anything hurt you.
The dog’s owner arrives, calling the dog back, apologizing.
Jessica looks out at the riverbank where the otter family has regrouped, their little eyes watching gratefully.
