[EXT. MOUNTAINSIDE TRAIL – LATE AFTERNOON]
The wind whips through the cliffs. Below, hikers pass unaware. But high above, on a narrow ledge of jagged rock, a young goat stands frozen.
Her tiny hooves are barely gripping the edge. She bleats — loud, panicked, echoing across the valley.
She doesn’t know how she got up there.
And she has no idea how to get back down.
[EXT. TRAIL – CONTINUOUS]
MAYA, an experienced rock climber hiking the trail below, hears the sound.
She looks up — squints — then gasps. There it is: a small white goat, trembling on the cliff.
Without hesitating, she straps on her gear and begins to climb.
MAYA (to herself):
Hang on, little one… I’m coming.
[EXT. LEDGE – MOMENTS LATER]
The goat bleats louder as Maya reaches the ledge. She moves slowly, talking softly.
MAYA (calmly):
Easy… you’re okay. You’re not alone anymore.
With steady hands and a secure rope, Maya gently lifts the goat into a small sling pack on her chest, wrapping her arms protectively.
[EXT. BASE OF THE CLIFF – LATER]
A small crowd gathers and cheers as Maya descends with the goat safe in her arms. The goat looks around, ears twitching, eyes wide but calm.
A nearby farm owner rushes over — it turns out the goat had wandered off from a hillside pasture the day before.
He kneels, tears in his eyes, and hugs the goat.
FARMER:
Thank you… you just saved her life.
