Episode Title: “Burning Bridges & Birthday Cake”
INT. MILLER HOUSE – KITCHEN – MORNING
Ginny sits at the kitchen counter, scrolling through her phone. She looks tense. Georgia breezes in with coffee in one hand, lipstick perfectly applied, hiding whatever storm she’s suppressing inside.
GEORGIA (cheerfully fake):
“Mornin’, sunshine. You look like you slept in a blender.”
GINNY (flat):
“Did you lie to me about Dad again?”
Georgia stops in her tracks, coffee cup hovering mid-air.
GEORGIA:
“Well, good morning to you too.”
GINNY:
“I found the letter. The one he sent. You said he never wrote back… but he did.”
Beat. Georgia exhales slowly, leaning against the counter. The cheerful mask slips.
GEORGIA:
“He did. And it was full of false promises. Just like always. I was trying to protect you, Ginny.”
GINNY:
“Protecting me or controlling the story?”
GEORGIA (defensive):
“Same thing when you’re a mother.”
Silence stretches between them. The clock ticks loud. Ginny’s eyes well up.
GINNY:
“I just want the truth. Even if it sucks. I’m tired of not knowing who I am because you think you have to play hero.”
GEORGIA (softly):
“You’re who you are because I did play hero.”
They stare at each other. The distance between them has never felt wider. But underneath it all, there’s still love. Messy. Complicated. Real.
