Officer:
Good afternoon, sir. I’m Officer Davis with the city police department. Do you know why I pulled you over today?
Driver:
Uh… no, not really, officer.
Officer:
You made a rolling stop back there at the stop sign. I just need to check your license and registration, please.
Driver:
Oh… yeah, sorry about that. I didn’t even notice. Let me grab it.
(The driver opens his glove box and hands over the registration, then pulls his wallet out.)
Driver:
Here’s my license and registration.
Officer:
Thank you. I’ll be right back, just sit tight for a moment while I run this.
(A few minutes pass. The officer returns.)
Officer:
Alright, everything checks out. I’m going to let you off with a verbal warning today—just make sure you come to a full stop next time, alright?
Driver:
Will do, officer. I appreciate it.
Officer:
Drive safe, and have a good day.
Driver:
You too.
