Guy (camera pointed):
“Hey, officers — what are your names? Badge numbers, too. Let’s make this public.”
Officer 1 (calmly):
“Sir, is there something we can help you with?”
Guy (mocking tone):
“Yeah — you can tell the truth for once. Badge numbers. Come on. Or are you gonna lie like you usually do?”
Officer 2 (more firm):
“You’re allowed to record, but you need to back up and stop interfering with our duties.”
Guy (stepping closer):
“Oh, I’m not interfering. I’m holding you accountable. That’s what you guys hate, huh? A little accountability.”
Officer 1:
“Sir, if there’s no issue, I’m going to ask you to move along.”
Guy (laughs):
“Move along? No, you move along. Go do your job. Stop standing around like you own the place.”
Officer 2 (gritting teeth):
“We’re not going to argue with you. You’ve made your point. Now step back.”
Guy (still filming):
“My point is you don’t like the camera because it catches the lies. Badge numbers, or are we pretending you’re off duty now?”
[Tension rises. A crowd starts forming nearby. The officers exchange a look, choosing not to escalate.]
Officer 1 (quietly):
“Badge 8421. Officer Daniels. Now please… go about your day.”
Guy (grinning):
“Thought so.”
